Book 1: Available on Amazon as an eBook and in Paperback
A rogue PI is hired to find two missing teens. Then paid not to. He’s going to find them anyway—come hell, high water, drug lords or Russian mob…

Things haven’t been going well for Jack McQueen. He’s a divorced, ex-RCMP cop with no friends left on the force.  He takes a job from a First Nations chief whose teenage nieces disappeared. He expects a simple missing persons case. That’s out the window when he’s kidnapped, threatened, and bribed to drop the case. Carrot and stick. Jack takes the carrot—then sets out to find the girls anyway.  First order of business: find out who grabbed him. He gets a partial plate on the car that took him—which belongs to the richest man on Vancouver Island (which is saying something), or a Russian Mob boss. He’s not sure which.  Until he finds two dead Russians with a photo of the missing girls, and traces of cocaine. Then he’s pretty sure. As things turn out, live Russians are more troublesome than dead ones, and Jack is in their sights—along with his tech-savvy partner Stacie Machado, who’s helping him research the missing girls. Their search leads them to a place Jack swore he’d never return to: Vancouver Island, where they come up against a drug lord even the Russians fear—and find out that Jack wasn’t exactly given the whole story by the chief who hired him…

RESPECT THE DEAD, Book 3 in the Jack McQueen Mystery Thriller series is available on Amazon.

Stacie Machado convinces Jack McQueen, a rogue PI to take a trip to her hometown, Newburg to help search for a missing Latina/aboriginal girl. Their investigations lead them toward the slaughterhouse that abuses workers and animals, into a community drug war, and toward discoveries of tragic accidents both present and past.
Along the way, Jack and Stacie connect with the migrant worker community, a Native American reservation, the local Catholic church, and the Slab Canyon desert people. Each community has its own intersecting tragic stories. Their presence in Newburg threatens the status quo as their questions about the missing girl reveals deep wounds and dark secrets that put Jack and Stacie in mortal peril.
As in previous Jack McQueen thrillers the pace is lightning fast, filled with tension, suspense, and the pursuit of justice.
Praise for Dead or Disappeared, Book 1
in The Jack McQueen Mystery Thriller Series

“Part mystery, part thriller, and 100% classic private detective story—the kind you just don’t see much of anymore. Bodies in car trunks, rich men with dark secrets, an intrepid PI who won’t back down in his quest for justice; this book has it all…” — John Robert Marlow, novelist, screenwriter, producer, and adaptation specialist. Very enjoyable read
“Wow, what a ride. This is not my usual taste in mysteries. Once l got started, l was hooked. It was intriguing, and full of action. The descriptions of the fight scenes were so realistic. l finished it the same day l started. I just had to know what happened.”

Action-packed Adventure
I enjoyed this book. The action is fast-paced, and one event leads smoothly into another. I had difficulty putting the book down some nights. The ending has an unexpected and well-conceived twist. David P. Fraser’s writing is wonderful. I was continually reminded of David’s poetry background.

 Review
Who would have thought, book 2 was even better. So many interesting characters, well described fight scenes, intricate plot, and for me, one very sad event. I am looking forward to book 3. All in all, a very absorbing series. I highly recommend the books. Reviewed in Canada, 2024
